Caponata Argamacho Trío is an instrumental ensemble which creates a direct and personal vision of music which is not easily defined due to the diversity which has influenced it. Perhaps could be labelled according to what is known as “crossover” since its style is contemporary, although influenced by a variety of different musical disciplines like jazz, rock, clasical music or even flamenco.
They are an unprecedented band resulting from the fusion of the Soprano Saxophone, Viola and Electric bass. They are working the music as a Clasical chamber music ensemble.
In their varied repertoire, three very different musical paths intertwine to create an exciting new sound. In the first place, they’ve taken the very personal approach of their own expression through music composed by the trio.
Secondly, their work is complimented by close transcriptions of other authors of classical music.
The third path is one where the trio works in collaboration with authors and composers ranging from contemporary music (Lindsay Vickery) to flamenco (Dorantes, Juan A, Suárez "Canito", Andrés Marín) or jazz (Jovino Santos, Antonio Coronel).
The band maintains close ties with the master flamenco guitarist, Juan Antonio Suárez "Canito" who has collaborated with them to develop a repertoire which can fall into the category of “Flamenco chamber music”.
They have played several important international festivals of music Like "IX Festival of Classical Music of Seville 2001 ", "VI Sonidos de la biodiversidad of Castellon 2003 ", "Bienal de flamenco of Seville 2004" (Spain) , "2004 Festival for Culture and the
Arts" (Philippines) , "The Melbourne's Spring Early Music Festival 2006", "XII Festival de Flamenco Pfefferberg 2007 " (Berlín).
They have shown their music also at countries like EE.UU, Australia, Germany, United Kingdom, Scotland, Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Macao, Indonesia, Honduras, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Ivory Coast, Scotland, Namibia, Portugal, Palestine, Israel and Cameroon with great success of public and critics.
In the summer of 2005, Caponata Argamacho Trio recorded their first album "Epitome", with the musical colaboration of Antonio Coronel, Juan Antonio Suárez "Canito" and the flamenco pianist David Peña Dorantes.
Brasilian Composers like Hermeto Pascoal or Jovino Santos Neto have dedicated some of their works to Caponata Argamacho Trio.
